“I will love you as a thief loves a gallery and as a crow loves a murder, as a cloud loves bats and as a range loves braes. I will love you as misfortune loves orphans, as fire loves innocence, and as justice loves to sit and watch while everything goes wrong.”—Lemony Snicket, The Beatrice Letters (via upon-the-heath)
The homestuck kink meme had a request for Karkat and ballet.
Karkat and ballet.
Thing I love. Thing I love.
I didn’t even last a day.
Nostalgia time! Back when BK was just a concept in my head, I stumbled upon this beautiful set of drawings. It gets me right in the Karkat feels every time. EVERY. TIME. Bless the artist who made this. <3
Look at any pixel art piece and you will find that it’s just tiny dots on a computer screen, made in MS Paint. Not impressive, sorry. If I wanted to I could open Paint right now and make a Mario sprite. Is that art? No. Anyone and everyone can do exactly that. It takes no skill, no creativity, nothing. You just pick the colors, left kick a few times, and there - you’ve made all the art for Legend of Zelda. If you want to make real art how about picking up a piece of paper and a pencil for once in your privileged life? Maybe if video games were made on that people would actually consider it art and not a shit stain on society. So please stop posting this shitty pixel art all over Tumblr, filling my dashboard with it every day. It’s annoying and disrespectful. Thanks.
the world isnt going to change for you no matter how much you cry into your cereal
“you will find that it’s just tiny dots on a computer screen”
replace “computer screen” with “canvas” and you have pointilism.
“When gays get so angry about a chicken sandwich, it is because Chick-fil-A has given around $5 million to fight to discriminate against us. When we praise brave Eagle Scouts who give up their badges in protest of the Boy Scouts of America’s prejudice, it’s not about scoring political points; it’s because there are kids in dens who are being taught to believe that they are less than equal. When we rant about the pastor who preaches that gays should be thrown into a concentration camp, we scream out of fear. And our fears are justified — in the last seven days, a lesbian in Nebraska was carved with a knife, a gay man in Oklahoma was firebombed, and a girl in Kentucky was kicked and beaten — her jaw broken and her teeth knocked out — while her assailants allegedly hurled anti-gay slurs at her.”—
“Honestly, I felt that the inclusion was the perfect nod to the Doctor. Those who know him have all immediately recognized his materialization. But to those who don’t know him, it was merely noise and not enough to warrant further thought. (I mean, all the companions come running from blocks away when the TARDIS lands in a city, yet no one else ever takes notice). Plus, The Doctor has never gone out of his way to grab the limelight. He (mostly) just observes. So I think that was Danny’s way of letting us, those in the know, know that the Doctor was indeed there, and that if he had to step in to stop any threat, then we will never have to know. Because that is the true Doctor, the silent guardian.”—A really nice comment on this article mentioning the TARDIS noise during the Olympic Opening Ceremonies (via notdoingmywork)
